Microsoft Word 2013: The Best Features

Getting an Office 2013 Professional download may be the best thing you can do for your personal or business computing needs. Office 2013 has a lot of great apps and one of its most useful platforms is Microsoft Word. If you are an avid user of Microsoft, you already know how to use the app.

In MS 2013, however there are many new features that allow Word to surpass its previous versions. For example, there is the Design tab.  This allows you to customize your document by adding in new Themes, Colors and Fonts and ways to use them.  There is a Set as Default option that allows you to format different settings and this time around Word 2013 makes it easier because it is all incorporated into one tab. These features are easy to find and you can make the layout of your document even more attractive.

The Read mode allows you to view your documents as a full window. You can click on-screen arrows so it will feel as if you are browsing through the pages of the book or you can swipe the screen from different edges. Office 2013 interfaces very well with touch technology. If there are any difficult words on the file? Right click on them to look for a definition. You may also enlarge certain images so that they are easy to view.  Another key feature in Word is the ability to collaborate. In Office 2013, you can reply to comments within a comment by simply hitting Reply. This appears as a small bubble at the margin section of the document.

PDF editing is now available in Office Word 2013 as well. You no longer need a third-party app to work with these Adobe Acrobat files. You can edit certain data inside tables and images can be repositioned. After you’re done, you can save it in either PDF or MS Word.

Finally are a number of things you can do with the layout. You can choose Move with Text or Fix position on page. Additionally, you can click See More to open the classic Layout dialog that gives you more options for positioning. Every time you click an image, a chart or SmartArt – there is a Layout Options icon that appears at the top right corner. You can click on it to select different configurations for text wrapping.

These are just some of the things you can do with the classic word-processing app if you order Office 2013 Professional download

Inside PowerPoint 2013

MicrosoftOffice Student Edition 2013 is loaded with lots of new features that are sure to excite you if you have been a long time user of the MS platform.  Let’s focus on PowerPoint of Office 2013. If you are an avid Microsoft user, then you have taken advantage of the older platforms, then you know that creating the best slide shows are the way to capture your audience’s attention.

Office 2013 features integration with the cloud via OneDrive. This may not be such a euphoric reason to like PowerPoint 2013, but it is nevertheless useful. If you have several Microsoft accounts, then you can use different profiles so that you can access the files you need by just using PowerPoint.  You can create an account for your personal files and you can create an account for school projects. Just use “Switch account” so that you can access different accounts. Additionally, you can have two OneDrive accounts in one place. And this is done through “Add a Place” that you can find on the Backstage view of PowerPoint.

Second, the Animations feature has now been refined as well. The Play From and the Motion Path End. The previous Play button from the animation pane has now become a Play From button. This means you can preview a portion of the animations on the slide you are creating. All you have to do is select an animated portion in the animation pane before hitting Play From. The Motion Path End treats the object like a ghost – this way you can see where the object will land after the animation is completed.

Third, PowerPoint now has a color picker. The Eyedropper tool can be located in the Shape Fill drop down at the Home tab and Drawing Tools Format tab respectively. To select a color within the slide, go to the Eyedropper button and then click on the color of your choice.

Finally, the Presenter View has now been improved. It is now darker so that if you present from behind a computer screen, there will be no tell-tale glow that will give you away. Different panes are now thrown in the mix, the slide preview, the preview for the next slide and your notes.  Don’t overly rely on Presenter View however. It is still best to internalize your topic so that you know how to relate it to the audience by heart.
